I'm back

Since my other blog is full of old stuff I am starting fresh.

The Election - When will it end?

I am a journalist so I have to report on politics. But I am sick of all it already. March 4 needs to come sooner. I already know who I am going to vote for, even after the results I will know who will I want as the next President of the United States. I am not a person who likes to talk about my political beliefs. However I will report on politics from a journalistic point of view. Sometimes one can tell whether or not a journalist is a republican or a democrat. Then there are the celebrity endorsements. I think that celebrities are taking a big risk. They can lose fans and their reputation. A family member, who will remain
anonymous, does not like Jane Fonda or Sean Penn anymore because of there political views. I personally don't want a person hating me just because I like a certain candidate. So if any of you are wondering why I don't discuss politics, you now know why.

Oscar Aftermath

The 80th Annual Academy Awards were full of surprises. No Country for Old Men was sure to win many awards but the Cohen brothers sure had their hands full at the end of the night. The actors awards were the biggest surprises of the night. Marion Cotillard won for Best Leading Actress for La Vie en rose
. Her acceptance speech was heartfelt and in complete shock. Tilda Swinton won Best Supporting Actress for Michael Clayton. Her shock was definitely evident as her name was announced as well as the rest of the world. Not that she didn't do well in the film but Ruby Dee was the fan favorite. And finally there is the amazing Daniel Day-Lewis for Best Lead Actor for There Will Be Blood. He kissed George Clooney right? Hmm that was quite amusing. Well who would not kiss George Clooney? As for Jon Stewart he did a fine job. He's no Ellen DeGeneres but kept everything flowing and was gracious all through the ceremony.

My new favorite channel

This past weekend I had an amazing experience. I was interviewed for the History Channel. Not something someone like me gets to do. A production company in the UK wanted my family and I to tell our story of what actually happened on 9/11. I have no idea when it is going to air but I will post the airdate when I find out.
